How Can I Make A Hole In Glass And Dinner Plates With Out A Drill?
- No trackbacks yet.
I’ve found some plates and glasses which I like the patterns of and I want to break to turn into pendants but I don’t have a drill to make a hole in them. I also can’t afford a drill and I have no one I can borrow one off.

Buy yourself a good quality glass cutter, some ‘came lead’ as used in stained glass windows, and solder. Cut the plates into 4 sections (like you’d cut a pie). Then work with the smaller pieces to cut out pendants and secure each piece with came lead around the circumference for safety.

I doubt you can drill glass without a diamond or carbide tipped drillbit. I’m very skeptical of Rasputin’s claim that you can punch it with a Phillips head screwdriver. I would suggest you go to a craft store and get silver jewelry pendant fittings and superglue them to the glass pieces. By the way, how do you plan to round the edges of the broken glass so that you don’t slice yourself bloody with the glass shards? Doesn’t sound to me like a great idea for jewelry.

Of course, you had best opt for the hole, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that you better as a matter a fact undergo with it once it has been chosen
